Instructional Designer

The role

We’re hiring for an experienced online/digital Instructional Designer to join us on a fixed-term contract of 3 months*!


As our Instructional Designer, you will have the opportunity to work with one of our most important clients! In this role, you will work closely with our talented in-house Client Services, Project Management and Creative teams and liaise directly with client stakeholders and external SMEs, to design training content for an ever changing SaaS/cloud product whilst ensuring maximum shelf life and minimum ongoing maintenance.


Collaborating with the wider Instructional Design team, it will be your responsibility to understand and analyse our client's training needs and then design effective learning content for a templated CMS system. You’ll also be required to produce detailed storyboards for any media assets required. With your experience of scoping and designing high-quality online learning, you’ll be expected to demonstrate a creative use of language, graphics, simulations and animations on a daily basis.


For this role, we’re looking for someone with a problem-solving mentality who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of instructional design principles and learning theory in the design and development of all learning content. You’ll need to have practical experience of using screencast software such as Camtasia.


This role is a completely remote home-working role that will be for a period of 3 months, *with the potential to go permanent.

Skills and experience

  • At least five years’ commercial experience working in or with large, fast-paced organisations

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Proven track record of designing high-quality online learning

  • Confident about developing rapport and trust on calls and in meetings

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Previous work with international clients in the IT, tech or finance sectors

  • Proficient with Camtasia

  • Designing fora CMS delivery system

  • Working on complex stakeholder projects
    Designing systems training

  • Ability to influence and persuade

  • Confident in negotiating and controlling scope

  • Programme management

  • Excellent copywriting and ability to create brand friendly tone of voice

  • Able to adhere to demanding delivery schedules
